"I hereby submit Jill Naquin for Employee of the Month. Not only does Jill go above and beyond with her day-to-day job duties, she also volunteers to help when needed elsewhere. Last year, when the parish was looking for a volunteer to become Captain for the Parish's Relay for Life Team for 2016, Jill volunteered her time to be a leader for a great fund raiser for a great cause. As Co-Captain, Jill took the leadership role, voicing her opinion and ideas in order to help raise money for the parish's team. She volunteered her time both inside and outside of work to be able to attend meetings and do anything that was needed. Jill created a good line of communication with all team members, kept everyone informed by sending out meeting notices, meeting minutes, decisions, and possible future ideas. She recently organized the Student Government Day program on behalf of Lafourche Parish by lining up the agenda for the day, coordinated all participants, and prepared the awards. She was not able to participate in the day’s events, but there is doubt that the Parish program was a success because of her efforts prior to the actual event. Mrs. Arlene also assisted a local roping club with gathering their legal documentation on a moment’s notice in order to expedite getting the proper certifications to host their upcoming event. "Watching Gwen handle her receptionist duties is so impressive. She's so personable to anyone that passes her desk, visitors, employees, service people, etc. It can be quite a challenge greeting and directing people while answering the phone and transferring calls (especially on really busy days), but she does all that and more, always, with a smile. She truly enjoys her job."
"Ms. Gwen is always willing to help you in anyway that she can. She is very thoughtful, sincere, and kind. I do not believe that I have ever entered the doors at the Mathews office that I was not greeted with a smile. What a valuable asset to our Parish and a great first impression to who ever walks through those doors."

Joyce is a Bus Driver for Head Start and has worked for the Parish for over 13 years.
"Ms. Joyce is a very dependable co worker. She will do whatever is asked of her and even take duties upon herself to get the job done. When a fellow employee fell sick, Ms. Joyce stepped in and started helping out Ms. Suzette with the record-keeping for all vehicles between her routes for the Head Start program. She did these extra duties without being asked by anyone because she knew the job needed to be done and stepped in and did it. She is a very enjoyable person to be around and work with."
"In addition to performing her bus duties, Ms. Joyce has been a temporary replacement for a fellow co-worker. She has been faithfully completing these extra job duties since August, 2009. Mrs. Tammy was first introduced into the Lafourche Parish Head Start family when her twin daughters were enrolled in the Bayou Blue classroom many years ago. At that time, she began volunteering in the classroom and really enjoyed it. When this position became available she was encouraged to apply for it. Mrs. Tammy is always eager to assist anyone and she does it with a smile! She is an extremely friendly employee and has a positive attitude. Mrs. Tammy is always eager to “go the extra mile†to complete a task."

Because this document is submitted to the National Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the Certificate of Excellence award, producing this document requires meticulous formatting, editing, and design skills as well as receiving an unqualified audit. Within her first two years at Lafourche Parish, Jenica's contribution to producing this document helped the Parish receive this prestigious award for the first time."

Sylvester is the Weatherization Coordinator for the Office of Community Action and has worked for the Parish for over 4 years.
"Outstanding employee; he is out going and helpful to each co-worker within Community Action as well as every department within Lafourche Government. He works hard on his program and assures that each home receives adequate services and resources to become self-sufficient. His hear pours out to the community in which he prays for daily. He stretches himself thin. After hours his work does not stop. He continues to reach out to others by making periodic home visits for prayers or for services. Mickey is a Bus Monitor for Head Start and has worked for the Parish for 4 years.
"Mickey is a very caring person. She helps out in anyway that she can. If Head Start is in need of an extra pair of hands to help deliver meals, or an extra pair of eyes to help in the classroom all they have to do is to ask Mickey. She helps out the bus driver in taking on duties that might not necessarily be a part of her job. She is very carrying and concerned when it comes to these Head Start families. She treats them like they are her own. Reading to the children or talking to them about their day is always a plus for Mickey. I think that she is very important to the Head Start program."

Connie Duet *2009 Employee of the Year*
Connie is an Accountant in our Finance Department and has been with the Parish for over 31 years.
"The person I'm nominating should be tagged and recorded as a fixed asset because she is a permanent and valuable fixture in Lafourche Parish. After serving the Parish for 31 years, there is no doubt that Connie Duet is a dedicated and knowledgeable employee. For as long as I've known Connie, she is always striving for excellence. Whether it's working on the multiple grants she handles or storm related items, Connie always gives her best effort to get the job done right the first time. Furthermore, she is always willing to help others accomplish any tasks at hand. Always working in a productive and efficient manner, the time she invests on these projects as well as many others is what will help Lafourche Parish continue to 'feed and fuel America.' Wendy is an Administrative Assistant in the Department of Public Works and has been in the Public Works Department for over 3 1/2 years.
"The employee of the month award should undoubtedly be renamed the Wendy Arcement Award. Whether it's the constant working on Fridays to the working through her lunch hour, she gives 110% everyday without ever complaining about it. She picks up everyone's slack while doing more than her fair share, and is still willing to help out with any problems; you have no questions asked. Wendy deserves employee of the month every month because not a day goes by when none of the above are true."
"Although I have been here for a very short time, it is very apparent that Ms. Arcement serves as a dedicated and tireless professional. The residents of Lafourche Parish should know that she is the gold standard of good stewardship for this community. For these reasons, I nominate Wendy Arcement as Employee of the Month for February, 2009."
Rochelle is a Center Director and has been with the Head Start Program for over 15 years.

She is pleasant and does whatever it takes to get the job done. She is well respected by her co-workers and offers her assistance with a good heart. She travels throughout the parish working with all the teachers and never skips a beat. She is most deserving for this honor."
