Job Title: Recreation Grounds Keeper (Lockport Area)

Reports To: Recreation District Supervisor      

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Type: Part-Time, Unclassified

Salary: $12.00 per hour

 

Job Summary: Responsible for work associated with grounds keeper work in a wide variety of maintenance and construction tasks, use of motorized equipment and any other assigned duties.

Essential Responsibilities:

·        Maintains park property including litter pick up;

·        Maintains equipment and vehicles to include preventative maintenance and repairs;

·        Operates equipment such as lawnmowers, tractors, utility vehicles, etc.;

·        Conduct inspections and report facility and ground concerns or issues to the District Supervisor.;

·        Assists in the maintenance and repair of park facilities and playground equipment including preventative maintenance;

·        Conducts inspections for playground, safety issues, facilities, parks, etc. and reports any concerns to the District Supervisor;

·        Carry out a wide range of park construction and repair projects and conduct minor plumbing and electrical repairs;

·        Assist in the maintenance and repair of park facilities and playground equipment;

·        Performs custodial duties as required;

·        Provides support to recreation programs and special events as assigned including nights and weekends;

·        Performs other job duties as assigned.  

Supervisory Responsibilities: None required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

·        Must hold a valid driver’s license;

·        Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check;

·        Ability to lift 50 pounds;

·        Ability to work in outside environment conditions.
