SALARY RANGE: $17.26 - $32.88 per hour at 40 hours per week

JOB TYPE: Full-time, Classified

DEPARTMENT: Department of Public Works

LOCATION: Public Facilities, Thibodaux

Nature of Job: Performs a variety of complex semi-skilled and skilled work tasks in the maintenance, repair,

and operation of parish-owned buildings, associated facilities and grounds, and public works facilities and

infrastructure, including the performance of journeyman-level trade activities in the construction,

maintenance, and repair of structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, motors, and machinery.

Minimum Qualification: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three (3) to five (5)

years related experience and/or training. *Electrical experience preferred.

Substitution: Equivalent combination of education and training in the operation and maintenance of public

buildings and grounds and the associated equipment required to facilitate function.

*Working knowledge of the operational hazards and associated safety precautions in the utilization of lawn

equipment preferred. Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred.

A valid driver’s license issued by a state other than Louisiana is acceptable for application; however, once

an employment offer is extended for a position, an applicant will have thirty (30) days to obtain the required

Louisiana license. Failure to obtain a Louisiana driver’s license may disqualify an applicant from permanent

employment in any position. Maintains acceptable driving record in addition to a valid Louisiana license.

*Proof of all certifications must be provided.
