CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: The Galliano Health Unit which was heavily damaged by Hurricane Ida is making great progress. The new 7,300 square foot building is located on the same property as the previous health unit. DDG was able to develop a site design that utilized the existing parking pavement, while incorporating new utilities, drop off area, and new employee parking to create an efficient and cost-effective design.
The brick clad building utilizes structural steel and a cold form truss structure while the standing seam hip roof design provides additional integrity with Hurricane Resistance in mind. The new health unit will boast a vaccine and immunization area, new laboratory, exam rooms, and reproductive health services. The building is also equipped with a tenant suite for future health services provided by the state and parish. Once this project is complete it will be a great asset for the South Lafourche Community.
