GALLIANO COMPLEX UPDATE

GALLIANO COMPLEX UPDATE: Damaged during Hurricane Ida this project once complete will reopen an important asset to the South Lafourche Community. The project consists of selective demolition of interior framing, correction to site paving, striping of parking lot, replacement of monumental sign, new building signage, new lighting, repointing of some exterior masonry wall areas, cleaning and coating of all exterior masonry walls, and new entry soffit. Interior work includes adding plumbing fixtures to library restrooms, new gypsum board and insulation on existing metal stud partitions, new partitions, interior storefront systems, flooring, ceiling, doors, casework, electrical and mechanical systems. Furniture, fixtures, and equipment for the library are included as an allowance.

Project and Building facts:

• Building total area: 40,980sf

• Building houses Government Offices, Head Start, and Lafourche Parish Library’s South Lafourche Branch

• The building recently received a new roof under a separate contract

• Lafourche Parish Council approved the Hurricane Ida Galliano Government Complex Rebuild contract at the September 10, 2024 meeting

• Contract Amount is $6,768,000, which includes an FF&E allowance for the library

• Notice to Proceed was issued on October 21, 2024

• Contract Time is 365 calendar days

• Estimated Substantial Completion is October 21, 2025
