On Monday, February 3rd, 2025 Parish President Archie Chaisson and our CZM department joined the NFL Green team and Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana for the Leeville Living Shoreline project. This project is a part of several projects taking place for Super Bowl LIX. Volunteers worked together to create a barrier out of 59 tons of oyster shells and planted new marsh grass. The focus of this project is to slow the effects of coastal land loss, enhance marine ecosystems and to bring attention to coastal erosion. We would like to thank NFL Green, CRCL, FORCE BLUE, Entergy, Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority, New Orleans Super Bowl Host Committee and all the sponsors that made this event possible.
